IoT specialized company ‘Innopia Technologies’ participates in the 2017 CES exhibition in Las Vegas
Innopia Technologies, a company specializing in Internet of Things solutions and media, will attend the CES 2017, a consumer goods electronics fair held in Las Vegas, USA in January 2017.
Innopia, which won the Jang Young-Sil Award in December 2015, partnered with the AllSeen Alliance in October of this year to open the world's largest open IoT platform consortium, Open Connectivity Foundation (OCF). It is the only platinum member in Korea, excluding LG. Currently, through the joint booth of OCF, the company is presenting a Home Device Bridge (HDB) solution that has been developed and successfully standardized internationally.
'Home Device Bridge Solution (HDB)' developed by Innopia has a variety of IoT sensors based on the existing IoT communication standards such as ZigBee and Z-wave, as well as Wi-Fi communication standards. It is attracting attention in that it expands the smart home ecosystem by connecting devices through an open platform called AllJoyn.
Various types of home automation
scenarios can be provided to users. For example, it is possible to
automatically cut off the power of small household appliances such as coffee
pots and pressure cookers connected through a power plug by using the service
of the home device bridge dongle and sensor for a safe house environment, and
leakage from the sink through the leak sensor in the kitchen. When detected,
notifications go out on the user’s smartphone.
Home Device Bridge Solution (HDB) is currently implemented and developed as a small dongle-type device the size of a USB memory stick, so it can be easily connected to any device that can supply USB power, such as an existing router in the home. Innopia independently developed a Linux-based HDB solution and proposed it as an open source to the Linux Foundation in September 2016 and adopted it as the HDB standard.
At the CES 2017 IoT exhibition that
we are participating in this time, we will present a stick-type device that can
be used by wirelessly streaming 4K HDR video and digital audio. It is a 4K HDMI
dongle product equipped with an HTML-5 browser. It supports high-quality audio
output as well as web-based video services, and provides enhanced security
software to provide high-quality OTT content such as YouTube TV and Netflix.
In addition to that, it is attracting attention as a future set-top box replacement product as it provides a product-specific remote control so that even a small sized wireless streaming device can provide a video viewing experience similar to the one of the existing set-top boxes.
An official from Innopia said, “We are discussing supplying a total platform solution including packages such as home device bridge dongle, sensor device, home monitoring camera, etc. to global telecommunications operators in Europe and India, and many export contracts are expected in to be signed in 2017, he said.
On the other hand, Innopia plans to hold an IoT exhibition and live demonstration at the joint booth of OCF, at booth 40930 at Tech West, Sands Expo.
